Erik Jonsson holds a seminar with the title "Electrical Networks and Their Probabilistic Interpretations". Welcome to join!

Abstract: I will talk about electrical concepts such as Electrical Networks, Voltage functions, Effective Resistances and how these concepts can be linked to, and interpreted as, probabilistic concepts such as Markov processes, hitting probabilities and escape probabilities. I will finish off by proving Pólya's theorem (which was famously referenced by Shizuo Kakutani with the quote "A drunk man always finds his way home, but a drunk bird may get lost forever.") using electrical arguments.

This is a seminar in our seminar series on Probability and Combinatorics (PC).
