Welcome to Liam Nestius presentation of his master´s degree project with the title "Toric orbifold structures on weighted projective spaces".
Abstract: Weighted projective spaces can be realised as symplectic orbifolds which admit Hamiltonian actions of tori. Through an associated moment map we investigate what the corresponding moment polytope say about the local orbifold structure near the singular points which are fixed under the action of the torus.
