Abstract: This thesis investigates how essential ageing processes in lithium-ion batteries used in large electric automobiles can be identified and quantified using an open circuit voltage (OCV)-based modelling technique. By analysing voltage and capacity data under various charge-discharge settings, the study estimates essential ageing parameters and assesses their statistical identifiability using methods such as the Fisher Information Matrix and Cramér-Rao Lower Bound. The findings show how varied operating conditions affect battery ageing and provide insights for improving lifespan prediction and battery health monitoring in real-world applications.
