Mentor program - iMPACToR 2025/2026

The Disciplinary Domain of Medicine and Pharmacy announces the launch of iMPACToR 2025/2026, a mentorship program designed to support early-career researchers in their academic development. The program, which has been running successfully since 2019 with over 100 participants, combines one-on-one mentorship, networking opportunities, and a seminar series.

Target Audience
The iMPACToR program is tailored for researchers at the earlier phases of the career (postdoc, researchers, BUL), before holding a senior academic teaching position (i.e. before senior lecturer). It is intended for individuals who:

  • Are new group leaders/PIs in early stages of establishing their research group,
  • Have started to develop their own research niche but are not yet established PIs, or are postdocs/researchers aiming to pursue an academic career as group leader/PI.

Program Details
The program will accommodate 30–35 participants, selected based on their motivation and academic merits. To foster diverse perspectives, mentors and mentees will come from different departments.

The program begins in September 29, 2025 with a kick-off meeting and includes:

  • Individual mentor-mentee meetings to provide personalized guidance,
  • Approximately nine seminars organized by iMPACToR, covering topics such as:
  • University structure and governance,
  • Leadership skills,
  • Grant writing strategies,
  • Applying for docentur,
  • Balancing work and life,
  • Promoting equal opportunities,
  • And other essential aspects of building an academic career.

Each seminar will be followed by group discussions, encouraging participants to share insights and experiences.
