They won the Pharmaceutical Student Union's Pedagogical awards 2022

Emma Lundkvist, Lecturer at the Department of Pharmacy, receives the Student Council's Award for Student Influence. Emma Lundkvist is currently coordinator for the Bachelor of Science Programme in Pharmacy, with a great commitment to pedagogical development.

“I feel honored to receive the Pharmaceutical Student Union's Pedagogical award, and receiving the prize for student influence adds an extra touch, confirming that the students perceive and appreciate the student perspective I try to implement into the contexts I work within,” says Emma Lundkvist, who, starting in the autumn semester of 2022, will be the coordinator of the Faculty of Pharmacy's new program committee, responsible for, among other things, follow-up work, plans and task preparation for the Bachelor of Science Programme in Pharmacy.

Malin Nilsson Broberg, PhD student in Analytical pharmaceutical chemistry, receives the Student Council's Pedagogical award for her efforts as a seminar leader and laboratory supervisor at the course Drug Analysis at the Master of Science Programme in Pharmacy. In its motivation, the Student Council emphasizes Malin's skills in explaining and answering all the students' questions with well-planned seminars and excellent pedagogy without them experiencing stress of not having time.

“I am incredibly happy to receive the Student Council's Pedagogical award. As a relatively newly graduated pharmacist, I have always appreciated dedicated teachers that up for open discussion, allowing students to immerse and ask questions at all levels and fully absorb the information. My own pedagogical strength is probably seeing the students' level of knowledge and adapt my teaching in order for everyone to keep up. Above all, I love teaching, and the opportunity to mix it with research is really a perfect combination,” says Malin Nilsson Broberg.

Björn Wettermark, Professor of Pharmacoepidemiology, wins the Student Council's Awarded for Student treatment. In close collaboration with Sofia Kälvemark Sporrong, Professor of Social pharmacy, Björn is currently establishing two new research environments at the Faculty of Pharmacy that with joined forces will show the way to better use of pharmaceutical drugs.

“Working at Uppsala University with its broad research and education and a faculty whose combined competence covers the entire pharmaceutical chain is hard to beat. We have received a warm welcome, but to be fully integrated, we must make the values ​​we provide visible. So far, we have invested a lot of energy into educational initiatives, and can already see an increase in interest among students to conduct master’s and degree projects in our subjects, and to receive the Student Council's award for student treatment of course gives important inspiration,” says Björn Wettermark.

The Faculty of Pharmacy congratulates Emma Lundkvist, Malin Nilsson Broberg and Björn Wettermark on their highly deserved awards, that were presented at the Pharmaceutical Student Union's Union meeting on 30 May.
