The Faculty of Pharmacy goes Science Outreach and gives away 3 signed copies of the new children's book När hjärnan blir sjuk, written by our fantastic researchers Åsa Konradsson Geuken and Klas Kullander. Send an email to Magnus.Alsne@ilk.uu.se no later than Tuesday 2 January 2024 to participate in the draw.

När hjärnan blir sjuk is a bedtime story far from princesses and unicorns - but with Zebras with superpowers and a grandmother who finds it increasingly difficult to recognize her grandchildren. The book also offers several thought-provoking and imaginative illustrations by Kalicharan Patra, as well as an introductory painting by Mats Konradsson, older brother of Åsa Konradsson Geuken and an artist that in his early adulthood, developed a psychosis and was later diagnosed with schizophrenia.
“With a mixture of playfulness and seriousness, we want to show that anyone can be affected, and above all that it is possible to live a good life even when the brain is feeling bad. We also want to stimulate the children's curiosity, and if and when schools contact us with requests for us to visit and talk to the pupils, we promise to do everything to make it a reality, say Åsa and Klas.
