From the Faculty of Pharmacy: A very Merry Christmas & Happy New 2026

Julhälsning 2025

With Christmas around the corner, it is time to look back on our Faculty of Pharmacy's 2025. The rearview mirror, as tradition has it, offers more spectacular views than can be captured in a few lines. And just as tradition inspires, our Deans Mathias Hallberg and Anja Sandström give it their best attempt...

Among many highlights, we must mention Ola Söderberg's tenth publication in a Nature journal and Hans Lennernäs's advancement to no. 104 in Pharmacology & Pharmacy on the Top 2% Scientists ranking of the world's most influential researchers, truly remarkable achievements. We would also like to take this opportunity to introduce our new professors Hanna Karlsson in Toxicology and Albert Mihranyan in Pharmaceutical Technology, who are already making a valuable impact on our work.

We also warmly congratulate Maria Kjellsson on Uppsala University's Independent Distinguished Teaching Award and Karin Svensberg on the Distinguished Teaching Award in the area of Medicine and Pharmacy, both highly deserved honors. Another great success was the EuroDURG 2025 conference, which in July attracted more than 300 researchers and experts from across the world to Uppsala, and the brightness of years to come were confirmed in the most delightful way when we witnessed the joy of aspiring pharmacists exploring our stand at the SciFest Science Festival. Amazing work, everyone!

Now dear colleagues, alumni and friends, the moment has arrived: On behalf of the faculty, we wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New 2026!
