From all of us to all of you: Have a magnificent summer

What just happened? A moment ago, it was all now and winter sports holiday, suddenly we send our students off to summer break after enjoying their degree project presentations. This has been a semester with so many highlights: among them the investigation of strengthened collegiality highlighting the joy and opportunities of working for a higher purpose, as well as receiving praise in the recent evaluation of our medical and pharmaceutical basic research.

We would also like to congratulate our colleague Anders Backlund on taking up the position as Director of The Linnaean Gardens, which we hope will further strengthen our ties to these beautiful and scientifically important environments. Further ahead, our Bachelor of Science Programme in Pharmacy will in autumn 2026 receive new eligibility, which our teachers are working intensively towards. Speaking of excellent teaching: Congratulations to Maria Kjellsson and Karin Svensberg, whose efforts made our faculty win the grand slam at the Uppsala University Distinguished Teaching Awards 2025!

We also hope to meet you at Almedalen Week, where our faculty is organizing a series of interesting seminars. We are looking forward to our seminar on AI and the pharmacists of the future, as well as U-FOLD's five seminars that highlight everything from mental illness to the connection between drugs and gang crime.

Colleagues, alumni and friends, with only days left until your well-deserved holidays, we wish you all a sunny and, above all, fantastic summer. See you in the fall.
