Ahead of Uppsala University's Conferment Ceremony, the Faculty of Pharmacy invites to traditional open lectures with our new Honorary Doctors. Lynne Taylor, who will lecture on Amorphous forms in drug delivery – past and present, leads a research program that develops new approaches to map interactions between drug molecules and excipients and assess the performance of formulations. Professor Taylor's impressive scientific progress is of constant benefit to industrial drug development and a source of inspiration for countless research teams across the world – not least at the Faculty of Pharmacy's Molecular Pharmaceutics environment.

“For a decade, our group has been privileged to in various ways collaborate and exchange experiences with Professor Taylor. In addition to being an exceptionally talented researcher, she is also a very important role model when it comes to inclusion and diversity within the academic world. This, added to her many other qualities, makes Lynne Taylor the perfect choice for an honorary doctorate,” states Christel Bergström, Professor at the Department of Pharmacy and host of Lynne Taylor's visit to Uppsala.

Dag Larsson, who will lecture on Translating medical research into scaled patient access, received his Degree of Master of Science in Pharmacy at Uppsala University and is currently chair of the Alumni Association Farmis. As senior policy advisor at Lif, Dag has established himself as a skilled future analyst and is currently chair of a Vinnova-funded initiative t to translate research into product development and manufacturing, and to prepare healthcare for a new generation of biological drugs – a work involving both Uppsala University and the Uppsala University Hospital.

“A good foundation when choosing a new Honorary Doctor is an already established och fruitful alliance where both parties identify great added value in continued developed collaboration. With Dag Larsson, who always shows genuine commitment and great generosity with his knowledge and experience, we are convinced that we have made a very good choice, and are now looking forward to a continued close collaboration,” state Mathias Hallberg and Anja Sandström, Dean and Deputy Dean at the Faculty of Pharmacy.
