Inspire the pharmaceutical experts of the future at SciFest 2024

The preparations for SciFest 2024 are underway. Each year, Uppsala's largest science festival attracts almost 8,000 curious schoolchildren and adults to Fyrishov, and of course the Faculty of Pharmacy will be onsite to meet the future generations of pharmaceutical experts.

“At last year's SciFest, our Faculty’s exhibition stand was greeted with a fantastic interest, and we have now outlined a new exciting activity package which we are confident will attract equally long queues. The program includes medicine-memory, creating your own drugs and fun competitions. We will also offer some old favourites, such as Virtual Reality in a pharmaceutical environment, which is always in demand,” says Bobo Skillinghaug, in charge of the faculty's activities at SciFest.

Now our faculty needs more colleagues to join us in the exhibition stand to introduce children and youth to how fun science can be. Together, we’ll arouse the students' curiosity about drugs and hopefully plant an interest to one day be a student at the Faculty of Pharmacy. SciFest provides an inspiring arena to interact with the school students who will be tomorrow's researchers, while we get the opportunity to sophisticate how we present and make our work available in a larger societal perspective. The festival is simply an arena with great added value for both exhibitors and visitors,” says Christel Bergström, Professor, Deputy Dean for Collaboration and multiple participator at previous SciFests.
