Paloma van Setten: With Valborg & Pharmacy degree coming up!
The Big One for both students and the entire city of Uppsala, 30 April – Valborg – is waiting around the corner. Weeks later, it's time for another batch of our amazing Master and Bachelor students of pharmacy to receive their well deserved degrees. What could be more fitting than for one of them to describe what it's like to study at Uppsala University and our Faculty of Pharmacy. We give the floor to Paloma van Setten, student at the Master of Science Programme i Pharmacy's 10th semester...
"Five years go by so fast here in Uppsala! In the fall of 2020, the Faculty of Pharmacy sent me a brochure about the Master of Science Programme in Pharmacy, creating quite a few butterflies in my stomach. Somewhat nervous but even more eager for adventures, I moved to Uppsala where I found myself completely at home. After the greeting weeks that the Pharmaceutical Student Union, Pharmen, organized, I found great friends with whom I have spent many study hours at BMC.
Now, close to the finish line and looking back on all these years, I'm so happy that I chose the pharmacy program in Uppsala with Sweden's only Faculty of Pharmacy. With courses in everything from chemistry, physiology and pharmacology to quality assurance and physics, I feel well equipped to enter professional life as a soon-to-be licensed pharmacist. Something I really appreciated about the program is the opportunity during the last semesters to delve into elective subjects that really interest you the most and the chance to study abroad!
With Graduation coming up a future career awaits, but before that happens, Valborg must of course be properly celebrated one last time. Happy Valborg!"
