Welcome to the 8'th Nordic Blood-brain Barrier Network Symposium!

Join leading experts as they explore cutting-edge research on brain barriers, neurovascular function, and drug delivery.

The symposium is organized on behalf of the graduate programme in pharmaceutical sciences, Drug Research Academy, and the International Brain Barrier Society by Birger Brodin, Department of Pharmacy, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen.

Conference Program Highlights

Topics include non-invasive imaging of pericyte dysfunction, age-related changes in calcium signaling, pharmaceutical applications of mass spectrometry imaging, and the role of glycocalyx and ABC transporters in blood–brain barrier integrity. Afternoon sessions focus on innovative strategies for drug delivery to the brain, including OATP transport pathways, nutrient-based approaches, and insights into peripheral neurotoxicity.
