A teacher's comment about returning to campus teaching
After what I feel is a terribly long time with online teaching, this semester feels very special. At the time of writing, I have not yet been booked for a campus lecture but I have high hopes that it will happen this semester, writes Christian Sköld, Excellent teacher at the Department of Medicinal Chemistry.

I must say that I look forward to it with a certain amount of childlike delight. I really miss strolling around in the lecture hall with the stylus as a conductor in full swing, ready to deliver questions to a readable and inquisitive audience in a wonderful exchange. Hopefully I can extract a few smiles from the students when I pull a long-sought chemistry joke and excited look out in the audience in order to catch any spontaneous reactions.
Sure, Zoom lectures have worked out fairly well, but I do not think they have been as fun. The pandemic is not over and of course there is a risk of setbacks and added restrictions, but if not sooner, we will at least later get to unrestricted campus teaching. However, at that point, some teaching activities might remain in a digital format but it will be very nice to choose that based on a learning perspective instead of a virus-related one.
