Ulrika Rosenström and Bobo Skillinghaug admitted as Distinguished University Teachers
The Department of Medicinal Chemistry congratulates Ulrika Rosenström and Bobo Skillinghaug on being admitted as Distinguished University Teachers at Uppsala University's Disciplinary Domain of Medicine and Pharmacy. The title refers to teachers who have reached a higher level of pedagogical skill and are pedagogical leaders with a reflective approach to teaching and didactics.
“This is a both gratifying and honoring confirmation of the pedagogical work we put in. To be admitted this very year adds extra value as it includes a position in the Disciplinary Domain 's new Pedagogical Academy, which since January offers a platform for discussion on teaching-related issues, which is something I find very interesting,” says Ulrika Rosenström, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Medicinal Chemistry.
The criteria for being accepted as Distinguished University Teacher also include being skilled and well-liked in the classroom. What do you yourself perceive as your main pedagogical strengths?

“When I was awarded the Pharmaceutical Student Union's Pedagogical Prize, the motivation emphasized that I show commitment to and interest in teaching, that I am sensitive to the students' differences and provide support based on individual needs. Outside the seminar room, my ambition is to provide support to PhD students and junior teachers in terms of pedagogical issues,” states Ulrika Rosenström.
Our Department's 2'nd newly admitted Distinguished University Teacher, Lecturer Bobo Skillinghaug, received the Student Union's Pedagogical Prize 2024 with the motivation that he " with his inviting manner and great knowledge, makes his lectures among the very best". Bobo Skillinghaug also belongs to the highly exclusive crowd that has twice(!) received the Limbiska Award for his "fantastic pedagogical skills and teaching ".
