First academic conference on K-pop in the EU. Ca. 40 papers and discussions about aspects like politics gender, fandom, industry etc. Kick-off with live performances and a keynote by the cief creative officer of a major Korean production company.
Who has not heard of Gangnam style, BTS, Blackpink, Girls Generation? We are proud to host the first academic conference on K-pop in the EU. Kick-off with Justin Hahn, chief creative officer of the Korean music production company 153/Jombaas, live performances by two award-winning cover dance groups, a workshop with platinum award-winning singer-songwriter Andreas Ringblom. Ca. 40 presentations and discussions will address K-pop and aspects of politics, gender, production, fandom, history, analysis etc.
Free for Uppsala University students and staff but registration is required.
