About the Speaker:
Dr. Schwartz is an Assistant Professor in the Department of International Relations at LSE. Her research focuses on the politics of forced migration, violent conflict, and humanitarian governance. Her current book project, Homeward Bound: Refugee Return and Local Conflict after Civil War, investigates how refugee return shapes future patterns of conflict and displacement. Additionally, her ongoing research explores global asylum governance and qualitative research methods. Dr. Schwartz’s research has been featured in leading outlets such as International Security, Foreign Policy, Slate, the Washington Post’s Monkey Cage Blog, and Lawfare. She has also collaborated with prominent international policy organizations, including the US Institute of Peace, the World Bank, and the Sudd Institute.
