Speaker Bio
Professor Sarah von Billerbeck (Department of Politics and International Relations, University of Reading) is a leading scholar on UN peacekeeping, peacebuilding, and the legitimacy of international organizations. Her research examines internal legitimation in the UN, NATO, and the World Bank; the role of discourse and communication; and institutional change in global governance. She is also co-PI on ESRC- and SSHRCC-funded projects on UN peacebuilding. Her publications include Whose Peace? Local Ownership and United Nations Peacekeeping (Oxford University Press, 2016) and numerous articles in leading international studies journals.
