2022 Oscar Prize awarded to Nina von Uexkull

Nina von Uexkull has been awarded the prestigious Oscar Prize for her work on the security implications of climate change. The prize is given by Uppsala University to a young scholar “whose scientific writing is the most deserving and offers the greatest promise of continued academic writings at the University.” See news release [in Swedish]. Nina von Uexkull is associate professor and senior lecturer at the Department. The Oscar Prize is awarded annually and is based on a donation from King Oscar II in 1877.
