Strengthening connections through the Rotary Relationship Building Visit
This week, our department had the pleasure of welcoming Katie Connelly, Rotary Peace Centers Program Officer, and Marios Antoniou, Rotary Peace Centers Committee Member, as part of Rotary’s ongoing Relationship Building Visit (RBV).
To deepen the relationship between Rotary International and the Uppsala Rotary Peace Center, our team organized a tailored program that highlighted the Center’s work and the Department’s academic environment. On April 23, Professor Lisa Hultman gave an overview of the department and her current research. Professor Karen Brounéus, Director of the Center, spoke about our educational programs, with a focus on the Master’s program that our Peace Fellows are part of.
Our guests were also introduced to the Uppsala Conflict Data Program (UCDP) by its Director, Associate Professor Magnus Öberg, and met with Catharina Blom, Rotary Host Area Coordinator in Sweden, whose role is central to the Uppsala Rotary Peace Center. On April 25, Katie and Marios had the opportunity to engage directly with the Peace Fellows during dedicated meetings.
This visit was a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas, strengthen collaboration, and showcase the work being done at our Center.
