Abstract
Sometimes, the problems we have in our personal and public life may depend on our way of thinking. What if people’s marriage problems depended (in part) on the concept of marriage? What if problems in our democracies depended (also) on the concept of democracy? What if certain health problems were also due to our (imperfect) concept of health? This talk delves into examples of imperfect concepts and into what it means to criticize and try to improve a concept, drawing on both hypothetical and real-life cases.
