Equal Opportunities
All employees and students at Uppsala University shall be met with respect and given the opportunity to work and conduct their studies with equal opportunities, free of discrimination based on the seven discrimination grounds given in the Discrimination Act:
- sex
- transgender identity or expression
- ethnicity
- religion or other belief
- disability
- sexual orientation
- age
The faculty of science and technology’s committee for equal opportunities has overall responsibility for the work on equal opportunities issues. Each year, the equal opportunities committee produces an action plan for the faculty’s equal opportunities work.
However, the main work takes place at the faculty’s departments. All departments and Uppsala University must have and equal opportunities officer who, among other things, is to support the head of department and the department board in their equal opportunities work. The Department of Physics and Astronomy works actively with equal opportunities and if you have questions or concerns about equal opportunities, you are welcome to contact the department’s equal opportunities officer or one of the members of the equal opportunities group.
