JUICE will be launched at 14:15 CEST, all being well, beginning a cruise through the solar system to Jupiter, arriving in 2031. On board are two Swedish-led instruments; The Radio And Plasma Wave Investigation (RPWI) from IRF Uppsala and the Particle Environment Package (PEP) from IRF Kiruna. Sweden is also a major contributor to the Submillimeter Wave Investigation (SWI).
In a series of short talks from 10:30 to 12:00, we will describe the mission and these instruments. The Swedish national space board will also be present to summarise the importance of the JUICE mission. A Q & A session will also take place.
Then, after lunch, from 13:30 we will view the live stream of the launch from the European Space Agency, and be in contact with colleagues in French Guiana and at ESA. We will also have a 1:10 scale model of the spacecraft itself present.
Staff and students are very welcome to attend the day, in whole or in part as schedules allow!
