In the autumn of 2017 the Cassini spacecraft entered its Grand Finale phase, during which it crossed Saturn’s equatorial plane between the innermost D ring and the upper atmosphere multiple times. During these proximal orbits, many unexpected observations about the nature and amount of infalling ring grains and their interaction with Saturn’s ionosphere were made.

In this 6-month seminar, I will go over my small contribution to this research field, presenting the last three papers and what I am currently working on towards the completion of my PhD.

We shall leave for lunch at around 12:15. There will be fika after the seminar.
