The fellowship supports a six‑month research stay from April 2026 at the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Uppsala University, where he will join the High Energy Physics Division and work with Stefano Moretti, Professor of Physics. His research will focus on new theories beyond the Standard Model of particle physics and on using experimental data to search for dark or unknown forms of matter, including studies connected to the European Spallation Source (ESS).
The award recognizes Yasar Hicyilmaz’s strong research background, including numerous publications in leading international journals and extensive international collaborations.
“This fellowship gives me a great opportunity to develop my research further and strengthen long‑term collaborations between Turkish and European researchers,” says Yasar Hicyilmaz.
