Seminar: Hydrogen diffusion and hydrogen-induced modification of materials properties

As a ubiquitous and chemically active element, hydrogen is a clean energy carrier while materials properties are potentially controlled by hydrogen doping. Since hydrogen absorption occurs at materials surfaces, interaction of hydrogen with surfaces and diffusion of hydrogen near surfaces are of particular importance and interest. In this presentation, I report our studies on hydrogen absorption in metals (Pd and Pt) and metal oxides (rare-earth nickelates and high-entropy alloy) with nuclear reaction analysis combined with surface science techniques including resistance measurements.
