Quantum Leap: Exploring the Past, Present and Future of Quantum Science

In honor of the UNESCO International Year of Quantum Science and Technology 2025, this event shines a spotlight on exciting developments in quantum research, from foundational physics to emerging technologies.

Jointly organized by Nordita – The Nordic Institute for Theoretical Physics and Fysikum – The Department of Physics at Stockholm University, the event brings together a diverse panel of researchers to share insights into the quantum world.

Frank Wilczek – Professor and Nobel Laureate in Physics, Stockholm University

Val Zwiller – Professor, KTH Royal Institute of Technology

Igor Pikovski – Assistant Professor, Stockholm University

Roope Uola – Assistant Professor, Nordita/Uppsala University

The event will be moderated by Jonas Enander, physicist and science communicator. Jonas holds a PhD in Physics and is currently in the spotlight for his recently published popular science book "Människan och mörkret", about black holes.

Format

Each speaker will give a 15-minute presentation, followed by a panel discussion where they will explore the future of quantum technologies and respond to questions of the moderator and the audience.
