Johan Lundin Kleberg, Uppsala University: "Social attention and reward learning in adolescents with social anxiety and depression undergoing cognitive behavioral therapy"
Abstract
Social anxiety disorder (SAD) and major depressive disorder (MDD) are two of the most common mental health conditions in adolescence. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is the first line therapy for both disorders. However, this form of treatment is at best only partially effective, and there is limited knowledge about the mechanisms underlying symptoms and treatment change. I will present two ongoing research projects in which eye tracking, pupillometry and models of decision making are used to study SAD and MDD in adolescents before and after treatment with CBT.
