Podcast: Preventing pressure ulcers with smart technology and risk assessment
Pressure ulcers are healthcare-associated injuries that cause great suffering and lead to significant societal costs. Can new technology and risk assessment work together to reduce their occurrence? This is the question discussed by Lisa Hultin, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Public Health and Caring Sciences, in The IoT Public Sector Podcast.
Together with Johan Sidén, researcher in electronics at Mid Sweden University, and Sophie Brundin, project manager for the “Pressure” project—where a connected mattress has been developed to help prevent pressure ulcers—she explores how innovative technology can help lower the risk of these injuries.
