UHE Associate Professor Inna Feldman
Inna Feldman, Associate Professor with Uppsala Health Economics, addressed an expert workshop hosted by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) at the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport in The Hague on February 12.
Fakta
The workshop, convened at the invitation of the OECD, the Dutch government, and the European Commission, focused on the development of a national investment model for prevention in the Netherlands. Feldman presented Sweden’s experience in applying health economic evaluation to strengthen public health interventions and policymaking, offering practical insights to inform the development of the Dutch national investment model for prevention.
Her presentation drew on her work in health economics and her role as an expert in the Swedish government inquiry “More Effective Public Health Interventions through Health Economic Analyses” (Dir. 2024:21). In addition to delivering a keynote presentation, Feldman participated in a panel discussion and plenary session examining implementation challenges, opportunities, and implications for the Netherlands’ next steps.
The event brought together international experts from Sweden, the United Kingdom, and Norway, alongside Dutch policymakers and technical specialists. Discussions centered on evidence standards, decision-making frameworks, and sustainable financing mechanisms for preventive health.
The workshop forms part of ongoing OECD efforts to support member countries in strengthening the economic foundations of prevention and translating research evidence into actionable public policy.
