IRES launches a new Master’s Programme in Russian and Eurasien Studies

In the fall of 2019 IRES will welcome its first Master’s students admitted to a new multidisciplinary Master’s Programme in Russian and Eurasian Studies. The programme lacks counterparts in Sweden and Scandinavia as it offers a unique opportunity to study Russia and the post-Soviet region while learning Russian through intensive language courses.

Master’s Programme in Russian and Eurasian Studies is a two year programme, taught entirely in English and is a result of collaboration between 3 departments at Uppsala University. The programme is multidisciplinary in nature, incorporating several academic disciplines, including economics, history, political science, international relations, law, cultural and media studies. Students will study a range of courses based upon these subjects, combined with specialised Russian language courses. The programme provides an opportunity to spend half a term doing an internship in Sweden or internationally or studying Russian language at a foreign partner university. The aim of the programme is to prepare area experts with profound knowledge in Russian language.

The international admission to the program starting in the fall 2019 is open until 15 January 2019. The national admission runs  between 15 March and 16 April 2019.
