Study progress

Update April 2025

The EUROFAST main study has been accepted for publication in the British Journal of Anaesthesia and will be published online as we enter the spring season.

All contributors are acknowledged for their tireless work collecting data at their respective sites. This huge study would not have been possible without their hard work.

Update November 2024

Inclusion to the study stopped as planned on 31 December, 2023.

The results have been analysed and the main results were presented at the European Society for Paediatric Anaesthesia annual meeting in Athens i September 2024. The total number of monitored anaesthetic procedures was 306,900 - by far exceeding our expectations. The study administration is grateful for the hard work of all contributors who have reported data from their respective sites. The author group is currently finalizing the manuscript and is aiming to publish the results in a peer-reviewed journal at the beginning of 2025.
