Welcome to an information day about how biobanked samples for research contribute to saving lives and advance the frontiers of science.
Uppsala Biobank welcomes the public, staff and researchers to a popular science afternoon with engaging presentations on how samples can be collected and used in research to cure diseases today and in the future.
The agenda is published on Uppsala Biobank’s website. Björn Arvidsson, Director of Research and Innovation at Region Uppsala, is moderating the afternoon and the participating speakers include:
- Anna-Karin Wikström, Director of Research and Development at Uppsala University Hospital
- Johan Sundström, Chief physician in Internal Medicine and Cardiology
- Simon Cervenka, Chief physician in Psychiatry
- Anna Beskow, Director of Uppsala Biobank
- Eskil Degsell, Patient and Family Representative
The afternoon is free of charge and no pre-registration is required. The information day will be held in Swedish. From around 15:30, Uppsala Biobank will offer a mingle session with light refreshments, and biobank staff will remain available for questions.
