New grants for researchers at Medfarm

The Swedish Research Council has now announced the awards for Clinical therapy research. In the category of project grants for planning or pilot studies for future clinical trials, Uppsala University and the Disciplinary Domain of Medicine and Pharmacy received a total of SEK 3,507,440, distributed across three successful applications.

Enikö Sonkoly, Department of Medical Sciences; Arja Harila, Department of Women’s and Children’s Health; and Ingrid Glimelius, Department of Immunology, Genetics and Pathology, were awarded between SEK 1,1 and 2,2 million each for their respective projects.

Grants for crime research

The Swedish Research Council has also announced funding decisions for research into crime, with a focus on crime prevention, gender equality, and domestic violence. Here, too, several of Uppsala University’s awarded applications were submitted by researchers within Medfarm. In total, Uppsala University received SEK 27,065,073.

Marie Allen, Department of Immunology, Genetics and Pathology; Erika Comasco, Department of Women’s and Children’s Health; Malin Jordal, National Centre for Knowledge on Men’s Violence Against Women; and Georgina Warner, Department of Public Health and Caring Sciences, were the researchers granted funding in this round.
