Species with different numbers of chromosomes cannot normally produce fertile offspring. But in the primate world, guenon monkeys break the rules of biology. Can their evolutionary solutions to genome conflicts reveal what drives speciation and diversity? Meet evolutionary biologist Katerina Guschanski in a conversation about hybridisation, population sizes and the art of tracking mountain gorillas in Africa.
