Introduction to systematic searching and screening tools

This session is particularly aimed at those who do or are planning to do a literature review, for example a systematic review or scoping review.

  • We take a look at different types of reviews and talk about their benefits and limitations.
  • We demonstrate how you can make your research question searchable in article databases and how you can divide the question into blocks before you start searching.
  • We present how you export search results from databases like PubMed, Web of Science and PsycInfo to your citation management software.
  • We present how you can handle large numbers of results from systematic searches and sort out the relevant articles using the screening tool Rayyan.
