On Wednesday 7 May the Almedalen Library’s new Research Gallery on the 3rd floor was inaugurated. The Gallery gives researchers and doctoral candidates a place to showcase their work.
The Research Gallery – featuring display cases, lounge seating, display units, and a thesis-posting board made from Gotland heartwood – will allow Campus Gotland scholars to take centre stage.
Presenting information, texts and ideas at multiple levels and in several formats inside the library has clear educational value. A key aim is to show research method and process, deepening public understanding of how scholarship is conducted. The project is expected to enrich student learning, offer visitors a glimpse of day-to-day research at Campus Gotland, and support research communication for academic staff.
The opening concluded with Beatrice Krook ceremonially posting her doctoral thesis.
