The Royal Academic Orchestra performs with world famous opera singers
On 13 September the Royal Academic Orchestra, conducted by Stefan Karpe, will be giving an opera concert together with soloists Alexandra Büchel, Emma Vetter, Mats Carlsson, Michael Weinius and Fredrik Zetterström in the Uppsala University Grand Auditorium.
Uppsala University’s own symphony orchestra, the Royal Academic Orchestra, has over the last few years offered several great opera concerts. This year’s concert features five prominent Swedish soloists who will be performing opera jewels, both from well known operas as well as some less well known.
‘We have singers of world class and the expectations are huge. The concert will surely top last year’s resounding success and I'm convinced that both opera lovers and new listeners will be satisfied’, says Ulf Pettersson, professor and chairman of the Royal Academic Orchestra opera productions.
Previous years’ opera concerts have been very popular and the tickets have sold out quickly. Stefan Karpe, Director Musices at Uppsala University and conductor of the Royal Academic Orchestra is looking forward to the concert:
‘The Orchestra is happy to be able to give yet another concert with such prominent soloists. It is great fun to see that there is such a lot of interest in our opera concerts and I am convinced that this year’s concert also will be popular and appreciated by both singers and audience.’
