Uppsala lights up for a third time
During November the people of Uppsala will for the third time see their city swimming in colourful light. The light festival ‘Allt ljus på Uppsala’ will be officially opened on 2 November and will include 15 different places and buildings in the city centre.
Among the 15 light installations are two University buildings: Museum Gustavianum and the Munken block on Trädgårdsgatan. Gustavianum will be lit elegantly to bring out interesting parts of the architecture with a touch of ”happening”. There will also be light installations on Stora torget, Uppsala Konsert & Kongress, Islandsfallet and S:t Olofsbron.
If you want to see all 15 light installations you can follow a walking route just over four kilometres long. In fact, one of the purposes of Allt ljus på Uppsala is to encourage healthy walks.
The light festival will be officially opened the 2 November at Stora torget by Fredrik Ahlstedt, Mayor of Uppsala. There will also be singing, music, dancing and mystique.
Allt ljus på Uppsala is organised jointly by Uppsala City council and local businesses.
