Medicine and health research granted SEK 158 million
The Swedish Research Council have presented which research projects in health and medicine that will receive funding. A total of 365 projects have been granted a total of almost SEK 1.4 billion. Uppsala University will receive SEK 158 million for 43 projects or research appointments.
Out of a total of 1,571 applications, 365 were accepted for grants.
Here are a few of the scientists at Uppsala University who will receive major grants from the Swedish Research Council:
- Ulf Landegren, Proximity ligation-based selection of combinatorial diagnostic and therapeutic reagents, SEK 12,500,000
- Per-Ola Carlsson, Strategies for visualising, preserve and restore beta-cell mass in type 1 diabetes, SEK 8,625,000
- Dan Andersson, Enzymes and non-coded RNA regulating TGF beta signals and cell differentiation, SEK 6,900,000
- Per Artursson, Transport mechanisms for orally transported medicines, 6,000,000
- Lars Feuk, Development of sequence-based strategies for genetic diagnostics to identify genes causing developmental disorders, SEK 6,000,000
- Agneta Siegbahn, A cooperation between coagulation and inflammation; studies of molecular regulation of the tissue factor, intracellular signal paths and patients with cardiovascular diseases and cancer, SEK 6,000,000
- Kerstin Lindblad-Toh, Identifying disease genes in dogs, SEK 5,400,000
- Lars-Åke Persson, Early development and later health: Possibilities of preventing later ill-health as early as during pregnancy? Follow-up of the MINIMat project in Bangladesh up to 10 years age, SEK 5,250,000
