Olle Jansson appointed adviser to the Vice-Chancellor for Campus Gotland
Today Vice-Chancellor Eva Åkesson decided to appoint Olle Jansson, the current acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Gotland University, as her adviser for Campus Gotland. The new adviser will have a strategic and operational role in coordinating activities at Campus Gotland.
The new advisor will assume his position the 1 July 2013 when Gotland University merges with Uppsala University.
‘I look forward to a good cooperation. Olle Jansson is the right person for this exciting and complex task which both entails coordinating internally and representing Uppsala University externally’, says Vice-Chancellor Eva Åkesson.
‘I hope to be able to steer our activities towards high quality, new thinking on pedagogics and strong research. I want Campus Gotland to be a driving force and a meeting point for the regional development here on Gotland’, says Olle Jansson.
The adviser’s main task will be to, on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, lead development of the activities at Campus Gotland. He will also coordinate day-to-day work and represent Uppsala University and Campus Gotland in the region.
Since the autumn Olle Jansson has been acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Gotland University. During 2011 he led a detailed examination of Gotland University’s activities. He was previously head of the Department for Humanities and Social Sciences and, before that, Vice-Chancellor of the Stockholm Academy of Dramatic Arts. Olle Jansson is also a qualified actor.
