Uppsala student granted prestigious scholarship
The Brittingham Viking Organization, an American-Scandinavian scholarship organisation, has decided to grant medical student Mattias Alexanderson a scholarship of 10,000 dollars.
The Brittingham Viking Organization is an alumni network that for 60 years has handed out scholarships to Swedish students wanting to study at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the US and to American students wanting to study in Sweden. The scholarships are granted to students with good academic results and social abilities.
Mattias Alexanderson who is studying medicine at Uppsala University is one of four Swedish students that have been granted scholarships for 2013. His scholarship will cover one summer of studies at the University in Wisconsin-Madison.
The other students granted scholarships are Emma Töcksberg and Jennie Berglund at the Royal Institute of Technology and Kristian Kärrman at the University of Gothenburg.
