2013 Nobel Laureates visit Uppsala

For many years it has been a tradition for the new Nobel Prize laureates to be invited to Uppsala University in connection with the Nobel celebrations in Stockholm. This year medicine, chemistry and economics laureates will visit Uppsala 13 December and give public lectures.

The Nobel Laureates’ visit programme includes a reception with the Vice-Chancellor and a festive lunch at Uppsala Castle, but also the much appreciated public lectures given by the visiting laureates.

Preliminary programme, 13 December:

  • Medicine laureates James E. Rothman, Randy W. Schekman and Thomas C. Südhof lecture at 09.45 in The Svedbergsalen, BMC, Husargatan 3.
  • Chemistry laureates Ariel Warshel and Michael Levitt lecture at 10.10 in the University Main Building, the Grand Auditorium, Biskopsgatan 3.
  • Cancelled Economics laureate Lars Peter Hansen lectures at 10.15 in Lecture Hall 3, Ekonomikum, Kyrkogårdsgatan 10. Cancelled

The audiences should make sure to arrive in good time – the Nobel lectures are very popular. Seats must be taken no later than 15 minutes before the lectures start.

The lectures will be broadcast online: Medicine, Chemistry, Economics
