Deputy Vice-Chancellor Anders Malmberg yesterday welcomed newly arrived international visiting researchers to Uppsala University.

“You bring knowledge, skills and competences to Uppsala. This helps us to keep advancing as a world-leading university. And hopefully it will be a learning experience for you as well”, said Deputy Vice-Chancellor Anders Malmberg at the reception.

Among the roughly 100 PhD students and visiting researchers who had gathered were Gerald Roche and his wife Elena Mckinlay from Australia. Gerald will be doing his post doc at the Hugo Vallentin Centre and feels very warmly welcomed to Uppsala, despite the cold winter weather.

“I have been very well taken care of by the department”, says Gerald.

The reception continued with a buffet dinner at Café Alma.
