Professor Cedric Linder awarded the 2014 ICPE medal
The International Commission on Physics Education (ICPE) has awarded its 2014 medal to Professor Cedric Linder at the Uppsala University Department of Physics and Astronomy for his many contributions to physics education research.
“The award recognizes Professor Linder’s outstanding contributions to physics education research. His work has been notable for its range, depth and impact, as well for its international scope.”
The ICPE states that Professor Cedric Linder has helped change the way in which physics is taught and that he has opened up physics to many disadvantaged students.
“Cedric Linder has been a pioneer and innovator throughout his career. He has shown leadership in many areas of teaching and research, including the introduction of conceptual physics as an integral component of service and mainstream physics education, the development of subject-based educational research, and the scholarship of teaching and learning.”
The medal will be presented to Professor Linder at the ICPE Conference in Cordoba, Argentina on 18 August.
