The 11–12 September, over 60 prominent researchers from the highly ranked Kyoto University will visit Sweden for two days to take part in the Sweden–Kyoto Symposium together with four Swedish universities.

As part of its ambitious research activities, Kyoto University organises annual research symposia abroad where Japanese researchers get the chance to meet foreign colleagues. This year’s research symposium is being organised by Kyoto University together with Uppsala University, Karolinska Institutet, the Royal Institute of Technology and Stockholm University.

Out of the total ten research sessions, four will be held in Uppsala on 12 September, where researchers will discuss ‘Smart Energy Systems’, ‘Micro-Engineering’, ‘Ethis/Political Philosophy’ and ‘Outstanding Young Researchers’.

‘This symposium shows the strong cooperation we have with the universities in Stockholm, Stockholm University, Karolinska Institutet and the Royal Institute of Technology. We are very happy to have researchers from one of the very best universities in Asia here in Uppsala’, says Eva Åkesson, Vice-Chancellor of Uppsala University.
