US Alumni experienced Uppsala for one evening

The 13 November, some 40 Uppsala University alumni and friends gathered at the Harvard Club in New York for a traditional ‘gasque’ and the annual general meeting of Uppsala University’s US Alumni Chapter.
The alumni event began with the annual general meeting of the US Alumni Chapter, led by chairman Rolf Marquardt, general manager at Handelsbanken in New York.
The annual report concludes that the US chapter’s activities are growing, with sub-chapters in the San Francisco area and Minneapolis.
‘We look forward to many great events in 2015, where we can contribute to spreading the word about Uppsala University here in the US by supplying alumni with meeting venues and news from Uppsala’, says Rolf Marquardt.
The annual general meeting at the Harvard Club was followed by a traditional gasque where the participants felt as though they had been moved to Uppsala. During the dinner, fundraiser Fredrik Åkerblom spoke of how inspiring it is to talk about all the research projects and other initiatives that exist at Uppsala University.
