Peter Wallensteen elected member of European Institute of Peace

Peter Wallensteen, senior professor at the Department of Peace and Conflict Research, has been elected as member of the advisory board for the newly established European Institute of Peace, located in Brussels.
The European Institute of Peace (EIP) is an independent partner of the European Union and has the task of contributing to the global peace agenda through mediating and informal dialogue.
The chair of the institute is Staffan de Mistura, who currently is the UN:s mediator in Syria. The advisory board consists of 15 members who shall contribute input to the overall work of the EIP.
