Students to compete in campus development
An accessible, inclusive and sustainable campus – that is the theme of an idea contest held on 11 February for students. Unleash your creativity and contribute to the development of our campuses!
The contest ‘Our Good Campus’ will be held in the afternoon of 11 February, and involves all campuses – with campus Blåsenhus as the base.
No prior knowledge or preparation is required, and the contest is open to all students. The afternoon will begin with all participants forming teams with students of other subjects, after which an interactive workshop will be held, led by personnel from Drivhuset. As part of the workshop, participants will be given tools to come up with and develop ideas, and experts will be at hand to answer any questions. Everything is done at a high tempo, with the whole process taking just a few hours from problem formulation to presention of solutions,.
The themes of the contest are:
- An accessible and inclusive campus with focus on increased interactions between students as well as creating an inviting environment.
- Sustainability from a broad perspective, with focus on the outside environment.
The presentation of the themes and the workshops themselves will be held in English, as the contest is also open to international students. Anyone who wishes to be part of a Swedish speaking group must therefore state as much in their registration.
Please sign up at the latest 7 February. Registration form.
‘So far, some 20 students have signed up for the contest, but we can accommodate a good deal more’, says project coordinator Ronnie Alsén, who mentions that the contest is part of the Uppsala University project ‘The Good City’.
All good suggestions will subsequently be used in the ongoing development of the campuses of UU. Aside from the winning ideas, as chosen by the jury, all teams will have the chance to win high-quality, useful prizes. All contestants will also be invited to a subsequent study visits to Akademiska hus and others, as well as be given a chance to participate in the development of the campuses.
Participation is free of charge and lunch, fika, and a goodiebag will be provided.
