Joint alumni function held in Auckland, New Zealand
On 2 February, Uppsala University held a joint alumni function in Auckland, New Zealand together with The Matariki Network of Universities (MNU) for alumni representing Uppsala University, Durham University (UK), Queen’s University (Canada) and Otago University (New Zealand).
Alumni had a chance to meet with Uppsala University’s Vice-Chancellor Eva Åkesson and received updates of developments at Uppsala University as well as in the Matariki Network of Universities, which is currently chaired by Vice-Chancellor Åkesson. Other representatives from Uppsala University were Erika Dabhilkar, Head of the International Office, Professor Inger Sundstroem Poromaa, Assistant Professor Ashleigh Harris, and Isak Stoddard, Programme Manager for CEMUS – the Centre for Sustainable Development.
The Uppsala delegation met with alumni ranging from exchange students, Bachelor’s and Master’s degree students as well as visiting faculty. Connections and networks were created not only between the Uppsala alumni but also with alumni from the other participating institutions.
The alumni function was hosted together with the University of Otago Development & Alumni Relations Office and held at Otago’s Auckland Centre.
