Exciting new partnership with Southeast University
Uppsala University has recently signed a partnership agreement with Southeast University in Nanjing, China. The partnership will primarily focus on education and research in medicine and pharmacy and is part of a larger collaborative effort involving the construction of a university hospital.
The two universities have agreed to establish a “China-Sweden Medical School of Southeast University” together in the near future. The partnership leading up to that will be developed in various phases and will include student exchanges and the introduction of several different master’s programmes.
China-Sweden Medical School will be housed in the university hospital planned for construction in a new district emerging in Nanjing, inspired by Hammarby Sjöstad in Stockholm. The new university hospital will be built according to Swedish models and standards and will provide good conditions for collaboration in education and research, primarily in clinical areas. A Swedish company is responsible for the planning and operation of the new hospital.
With this partnership, Uppsala University aims to broaden cooperation in education and research with an ultramodern, Asia-based medical facility in order to develop clinical studies and expand reach on the education front.
